Is Stress Stealing Your Good Looks?

Is Stress Stealing Your Good Looks?

Well...

Nothing that the Power Plate cant take care of.

Is taking it’s toll on your blood pressure, but did you know it affects your looks as well? Fortunately, you can counteract the effects of stress with some simple lifestyle changes.

When you get stressed out, your body starts producing more of the hormone cortisol. High levels of cortisol can act like toxins eeeewwwww...and cause the sebaceous glands to go into overdrive, leading to inflammation, weight gain, free-radical formation and acne. Stress has even lead FoxNews to question if stress is turning President Barack Obama’s hair gray. Plus, there’s that cranky mood you just can seem to shake.

To combat stress internally and externally, try these steps:

• Get enough sleep. Aim for six to eight hours every night to help boost cell renewal.

• Just breath. A few calming breaths will help to put things into perspective and trigger relaxation cues that you vitally need.

• Fight off inflammation by eating a diet rich in antioxidants, especially brightly colored fruits and vegetables and heart-healthy fats like avocados, nuts and olive oil.
• Opt for products that target stress-induced beauty issues, like Organic Aromatherapy oils
  • Last but not least, try the Power Plate! An hours worth of workout in just 30 minutes. Some people call this the lazy girls workout...PPFFF there is noway you can be lazy on this thing. Your muscles contract 30-50 times in ONE second...yes i said ONE second! Great lunch time workout too. If your in Naples Florida respond to me for a FREE First Impression Demonstration.

Vibrate, accelerate, lose weight!!! What???? Power Plate!

What is a POWER PLATE®

So, I have been doing this new machine (well its not really new but new to my workout) the Power Plate for about three weeks now, and its been such an amazing workout that I haven't been going to my regular gym doing regular exercises. Wow!!!

 I think just might cancel my gym membership. I get more of a workout in half the time and it massages me after and stretches me...LOOOVE it!  I have been training people on it and love the results they get. Cant wait to train you on it. This is how it works;

~POWER PLATE® equipment features a platform that generates precise harmonic vibration at rates of 25-50 times per second, triggering rapid muscle response which activate as much as 95% of muscle fibers compared to as little as 40% or less with traditional exercise.

~Full body workout in less than 30 minutes utilizing all 5 elements of fitness—stretch, balance, core conditioning, strength training and massage.

~Unlike traditional strength training that takes a long time and loads the body with mass, increasing the potential for injury, or cardio training that doesn’t build muscle and increases impact and stress on joints, Power Plate® is a safe, medically-approved device that improves:
~ Strength
~ Power
~Flexibility
~Circulation
~Bone density
~Balance and mobility
~Weight loss
~Cellulite reduction
~Hormonal balance and recovery, all working together to help people look better, feel better and play better in less time.

Have a pickle...

Wow!!! Today I went nuts and happened to eat a whole jar of pickles... But was it so bad ???      They are healthy!!!
Here are some benefits :
pickles are high in fiber, which is healthy for the digestive track and helps prevent cancer. pickles contain antioxidants and depending on the vegetable, are a great source of calcium, magnesium, and iron. When pickles are fermented, lactic acid is created which helps to lower fat in the bloodstream, improve circulation, and lower blood pressure. It has been found that eating fermented products regularly resulted in lower rates of skin problems, asthma, and auto-immune disorders. Vinegar, which is used in the pickling process is known to boost the immune system, ease digestive disorders, and can break down calcium deposits in a person's joints. Vinegar is also anti-bacterial and anti-fungal. Try to get organic and keep your salt intake low if you happen to indulge like I do.  This just happens to be on the Dr. Oz show while I was writing this...I m not lying...Try pickles mixed with cottage cheese, its great!!!

You must STOP using THESE products!!! NOW!

You must STOP using products with PARABEN'S !!!!!!!!!!!!!

This is my favorite brand
any health food store carries it.
It's important to recognize that whatever you spread on your skin can be absorbed into your body and potentially cause serious damage over time.

Deodorants and antiperspirants are some of the primary sources of parabens, but the fact that even those who reportedly never used them still had parabens in their breast tissue clearly demonstrates that these chemicals, regardless of what products they're added to, can, and apparently will, accumulate in breast tissue.

These chemicals are commonly used in:
Deodorants and antiperspirantsShampoos and conditionersShaving gelToothpaste
Lotions and sunscreensMake-up / cosmeticsPharmaceutical drugsFood additives

Parabens inhibit the growth of bacteria, yeast, and molds, and are used as preservatives.
On the label they may be listed as:

Methyl parabenPropyl parabenIsobutyl paraben
Ethyl parabenButyl parabenE216

Studies have shown that parabens can affect your body much like the estrogens, which can lead to diminished muscle mass, extra fat storage, and male gynecomastia (breast growth).

Some other Toxic ingredients that are having negetive effects:

Do you drink like a fish?

Increase your water intake - Water is a key component to life on our planet. No living creature can survive without a fresh supply of water each day. If you do not consume enough water, your body will age faster, appear fatter, be more susceptible to germs and colds, lose joint mobility, and much more. Most people who weigh less than 150 pounds need to drink at least 8-10 glasses of water per day. A person who weighs between 150-250 pounds requires about 16 glasses per day, especially when exercising. I usually tell my clients drink 1/2 of your body weight in ounces. I usually choose a distilled or reverse osmosis.

Challenge: My friends and I are setting our phones to remind us every hour to drink a glass of water (8-12oz) I carry a gallon and a glass in my car so i don't skip. Do it with us!!! Tell me how you feel after a week. See how much your body needs this precious gift from God.

A little hormonal are we...?

Hormonal factors come into play when trying to loose weight, some woman will loose their estrogen. That means less estrogen is converted to testosterone, which is crucial for muscle-building. "You will have to work harder [mostly when you are older] to maintain the same muscle mass." After the age of 30 start getting your hormones tested so you can get balanced, men should do this too!

Things around the the house to help you Lose weight

Tools for your weight loss
Here are three of many that can help you toward your goals.

Sticky notes

Motivate yourself: List five reasons for changing your eating habits (more energy, cuter clothes) on a sticky note or note card. Store it in your wallet or a better idea, post it on your fridge (or do both!); review it whenever you feel your resolve weaken. Also, put a photo on the refrigerator of what your goal is to look like. Whether its you or a picture of someone you look up to realistically.
Water bottle
Stay hydrated: We all know this...Research published in the Journal of Clinical Endocrinology and Metabolism shows that drinking about 2 cups of water increases your calorie burn by as much as 30 percent for more than an hour. If plain water is too boring, experiment with low-calorie add-ins such as lemon or lime peel, cucumber, mint or a splash of juice. Us a cool and safe water bottle, my favorite water bottles are Glass water bottles with plastic coating. I use a pretty Pitcher an  of water in my fridge with a PH stick (do your research) in it and I seem to drink more, don't know why but maybe its because its in glass and its cold and crisp.Who cares as long as you are drinking it.
Tall, skinny glass
Limit calories from drinks: When you’re sipping anything else besides water (I'm sure you wouldn't even thing of it), choose a tall, elongated glass rather than a short, stout one—you'll drink less without even thinking about it. People typically pour themselves more of a beverage when they use a small, wide glass.

On the Go Gluten FREE Yumminess Pasta Salad

Yummy Gluten FREE Pasta Salad
This one has been in my house for years. Everyone loves it, because you can as whatever ingredient that you desire. Everything below is Organic or Hormone FREE Products.
Here are some ideas:
Gluten Free penne or spiral noodles(multicolored makes it interesting to look at), one pound,
Tuna 3-5 cans or pouches (I like light albacore, it has less mercury) or chicken breast slices about 3-6 breasts cooked.
Veggies to add:
Olives, slices carrots, celery, cucumbers, onions, green peppers, shaved zucchini, tomato's, my FAV sun-dried tomatos broccoli, cauliflower, artichoke or any other veggie that makes you happy.
Other yumminess to add:
Chick peas
Shredded parmesan cheese, feta, mozzarella.
Dressing and spices:
Balsamic vinegar
Olive oil
And if you want it a tad creamy add some organic ranch dressing.
Onion powder, garlic powder, parsley, oregano, Himalayan sea salt
Starts with a teaspoon, add more if you like.
I always put about a ¼ cup of water to keep it juicy (pasta tends to soak up a lot of the juices so this helps keep it juicy)
This Pasta Salad tastes better the day after, because it allows all the spices and juices to soak in. Cant wait till you try it...let me know how you like it....yummmmmers…

Nix Alcohol.... A 5-ounce glass of wine or light beer generally packs about 100 calories. Consumed every day for one year, 100 extra calories adds up to a 10-pound weight gain. Ooouuch!!!

Small Plate for small belly

Use a smaller plate
In my house I have a collection of more than one set of dishes and usually they all vary in size and the table usually doesn't look perfect. So I set the table with my 10 year old and I having the smaller plate. It holds a lot less food, but gives the appearance of normal servings. By using a smaller plate, you will naturally eat less food.

Another good tip:

I drink a bottle of water before you eat - Carry a bottle around with you all day. If this isn't a habit you have acquired, fill a bottle about an hour before dinner and sip away. You will eat less because you feel full. It's that simple.

Negative Friends

Surround yourself with winners

One of the key qualities of successful people is that they avoid negative individuals. Instead, they choose to spend the majority of their time surrounded by those who have already achieved what they seek to achieve. When I'm feeling yucky or a little down I tend to call my best friend or any of my friends that have the same interests as me, and STAY CLEAR of the Debbie downers. So if your goal is to weigh 135 pounds through healthy eating and active living, then seek out others who already live a healthy lifestyle and have achieved their weight loss goals. Hanging out with people who just talk about getting in shape, but who never take persistent action, will increase your chances of never reaching your goal.

Sugar booger...

3 Reasons You Should Stop Eating Sugar Now

Halloween, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years
aren't you glad its over for awhile? You’ll
probably dipped into the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups when no one is looking. But there’s good reason to show restraint. While natural sweeteners like honey and fruit can go a long way to fend off a sweet tooth, we all need to work toward nixing refined and processed sugars, like you’ll find in candy corn, packaged baked goods and ice cream.

Sugar ages your skin. Ewwwwwwwwwwww! In your body, the sweet stuff binds to proteins in the cells and in collagen in your skin. These acts prompt the growth of free radicals and inflammation, which makes it harder for your cells to operate and renew, leaving you with aged skin.

• It not only causes cavities, but it can wreak havoc on your dental work, too. Hard or sticky foods such as mints and candies, can actually damage your veneers, crowns or bonding. So just say no to the Laffy Taffy and Dum Dum Pops.

You will get fatfaster than you would eating fatty foods. And you can blame much of that on your sugary drinks, according to recent research by Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.

If you want some sugar in your life, stay away from the kids junk food that you buy them. As a matter of fact stop buying them the junk Kids cant eat bad if you don't buy it for them. Try using real sugar topically with a great sugar-based scrub like Brown Sugar Body Scrub. You will hydrate your skin, exfoliate naturally and not gain an ounce...HA!

Of the 43 different fruit and vegetable categories tested by the Environmental Working Group and included in their Shoppers' Guide to Pesticides in Produce, these 12 fruits and vegetables had the highest pesticide load, making them the most important to buy or grow organic:

Peaches ~Apples~Sweet bell peppers~ Celery ~ Nectarines ~ Strawberries~Cherries~Lettuce~Grapes (imported) ~ Pears ~ Spinach ~ Potatoes
In contrast, these foods were found to have the lowest residual pesticide load, making them the safest bet among conventionally grown vegetables:

For all you Nuts out there

Are you nuts?   Eat Nuts for a Trim Belly

Want to trick your mind into eating less? Have a handful of nuts every day, says a new study from the University of Barcelona and if you care Dr. Oz says. Not only are nuts an excellent source of healthy omega-3 fatty acids, they also increase your levels of serotonin, a neurotransmitter that regulates mood and appetite (it has also been called the “happy hormone.")

During the study, the researchers compared subjects who ate one ounce of raw, unpeeled walnuts, almonds and hazelnuts a day for 12 weeks to another group that ate no nuts. All of the subjects were overweight in the midsection. Those who ate the nuts had higher levels of serotonin at the end of the study.

The trick, the researchers say, is keeping the serving small—about 30 grams, which fits into the palm of most people’s hands. And let’s not overlook how the nuts were prepared—they weren't. No honey glaze, sea salt, oven-roasted, chocolate-covered offerings were used. But if the raw variety will keep the pounds away and keep our moods light, I'm willing to make this a daily habit. How about you?

Eat 5-6 times per day...I know you know this...

 Eat 5-6 times per day

Do not allow your blood sugar levels to drop in between meals. By eating more often and eating the right types of foods that are on the low end of the glycemic index, you can keep your blood sugar levels more even throughout the day and ensure that you are not getting those mid-afternoon yawns while also helping keep the excess weight off.

Remember that when you spike your blood sugar by eating simple sugars and refined carbohydrates, this will potentially cause your body to store fat!

Broccoli Beef

Broccoli Beef This is a great recipe, mainly because broccoli is cheap and beef could be sliced thinly to stretch and feed unexpected guests.
So, how do you get the broccoli crisp-tender and the beef juicy, succulent? Well, the secret is to blanch (boil) the broccoli first, before stir frying the beef. This helps you control the cooking times for the broccoli, instead of praying that the broccoli and beef finish cooking at the same time. You’ll add the broccoli back into the pan as the beef finishes cooking.

And how do you prevent the garlic from burning? Most recipes will have you add the garlic in the pan or wok before you add the beef. If you do this, you’ll surely burn your garlic, as the beef takes about 1 minute to 1 ½ minutes to cook through on high heat. In this recipe, you’ll add the garlic after you add the beef. There should be plenty of oil in the wok to fry the garlic (if you use a large frying pan or wok) and the timing will be perfect.

Broccoli Beef Recipe

INGREDIENTS (everything I list is either organic or no hormone all natural)

  • 3/4 pound flank or sirloin, sliced thinly across the grain
  • 3/4 pound broccoli florets
  • 2 tablespoons Coconut Oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, very finely minced or smushed through garlic smusher
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch, dissolved in 1 tablespoon water
For the beef marinade
  • 1 teaspoon Braggs alternative soy souce
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese rice wine (or dry sherry)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cornstarch
  • 1/8 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
For the sauce
  • 2 tablespoons oyster sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese rice wine (or dry sherry)
  • 1 tablespoon Braggs
  • 1/4 cup chicken broth

METHOD

1 Marinate the beef: Stir together the beef marinade ingredients in a medium bowl. Add the beef slices and stir until coated. Let stand for 10 minutes
2 Prepare the sauce: Stir together the sauce ingredients in a small bowl.
3 Blanch the broccoli: Cook the broccoli in a small pot of boiling, salted water until tender-crisp, about 2 minutes. Drain thoroughly.
4 Heat a large frying pan or wok over high heat until a bead of water sizzles and instantly evaporates upon contact. Add the cooking oil and swirl to coat. Add the beef and immediately spread the beef out all over the surface of the wok or pan in a single layer (preferably not touching). Let the beef fry undisturbed for 1 minute. Flip the beef slices over, add the garlic to the pan and fry for an additional 30 seconds to 1 minute until no longer pink, Pour in the sauce, add the blanched broccoli and bring to a boil. Pour in the dissolved cornstarch and cook, stirring, until the sauce boils and thickens, 30 seconds.
